The course was prepared as part of the project entitled "Platon. Online educational courses for students" (project number: POWR.03.01.00-00-W071/18). Project co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund – Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development.

PREREQUISITES
You do not need to have any background knowledge to proceed with the course. The course is intended for anyone interested.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The main aim of this course is to support learners in improving their lifelong learning competencies.
You will:
- deepen self-reflection and self-awareness by creating conditions for planning and implementing professional development on the global multicultural labour market.
- develop the autonomy and attitudes of responsibility for your own development.
- build individual intellectual, relational and social capital.
COURSE CONTENT
MODULE 1.
Lifelong learning – necessity or modern invention?
This module introduces the subject of lifelong learning, concepts, and overall view of the subject. It also elaborates on the need for lifelong learning as well as gives relevant examples of lifelong learning scenarios.
MODULE 2.
Benefits of lifelong learning
This module deals with the benefits of lifelong learning and explains why lifelong learning is important for everyone. It as well exemplifies the difference between those who engage in lifelong learning and those who do not.
MODULE 3.
Learning competence
This module deals with learning competences and different ways of learning. As humans we have different abilities and preferences, there is obviously no one rule to learning style. Find out what works and suits you.
MODULE 4.
Attitudes in the learning process
This module deals with learning strategies and approach to learning and it focuses on the fact that lifelong learning is achievable. Here you will find 10 actions that will enhance your learning abilities.
MODULE 5.
Knowledge economy
This module deals with why we have to learn and understand the knowledge economy. The greatest currency and asset in the world today is information and knowledge. They are valuable and expensive, hence there is a necessity to be involved in the knowledge economy process.
MODULE 6.
Lifelong learning for entrepreneurs and workplace
This module deals with issues around lifelong learning and workplace. It is a known fact that employers are looking for employees who are self-motivated, continuously developing, and productive. Hence the need for lifelong learning as an employee is paramount.
MODULE 7.
Barriers to learning: how to conquer the challenge of engagement
This module introduces the barriers to learning and how to overcome them. The focus is not on the obstacles but on the solution.
MODULE 8.
Lifelong learning for personal and professional development
This module deals with lifelong learning for personal and professional development.
MODULE 9.
The 21st-century lifelong learner
This module deals with the dynamic of 21st-century learning. It suggests tools and ideas that can be implemented to enhance learning in the 21st century.
MODULE 10.
Managers in modern companies
This module deals with the concepts of managers as lifelong learners as well as how managers can build a learning organization.
CONDITIONS FOR PASSING THE COURSE
To pass the course and obtain a certificate you have to read the entire material and get a total of 50% of the points that can be gained from the activities included in the course.
