MANAGING A MODERN ENTERPRISE IN THE CONDITIONS OF GLOBAL COMPETITION

The course is intended for graduate students. It allows you to increase competences in the field of modern enterprise management.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course is intended for graduate students. It is an additional part of the education process. As a result of this e-learning process, the participant will acquire competencies in the field of modern enterprise management in the conditions of global competition - competencies necessary for efficient organization management and performance of managerial functions.

It is assumed that providing basic knowledge and skills in the field of extended management concepts, will strengthen the competitiveness of Polish enterprises, while the end result is the expansion of students' knowledge, which increases the attractiveness of graduates of the management faculty on the labour market. The course participant will gain knowledge, competencies necessary for effective business management.



WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

The main aim of the course is to obtain additional competences in the field of modern enterprise management in the conditions of global competition, which are sought after and important from the point of view of the needs of the labor market, economy and society.

A graduate of the course will demonstrate knowledge of theories, methods, tools in the field of management sciences and related sciences, which concern the essence, problems, and their regularity related to the functioning of a company in the conditions of globalization. The interdisciplinary curriculum and innovative forms of conducting classes in the course, and therefore the acquired knowledge, skills, and social competencies, ensure the preparation of participants to perform managerial, coordinating, and analytical functions both in enterprises and in other organizations.

It should be emphasized that the objectives of the course in terms of knowledge, skills, and competencies are:

    • knowledge in the field of business management,
    • the ability to recognize, diagnose and solve problems in the managing of material and non-material resources of the enterprise,
    • competencies required at work as a manager / middle and senior manager.



    SYLLABUS



ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no prerequisites for those who are studying a masters degree in the field of management.
On the other hand, for students in other fields of study, the admission requirements relate to their competencies, which facilitate the implementation of this course, namely:



TERMS OF COURSE ASSESSMENT

There are two types of student activity that are assessed in the course:

Tests by modules consist of about 10-15 questions, the answers to which can be found in the presented lessons. The course participant may only have 2 attempts when answering each question in the test.

The end of the entire course ends with a final test (exam) of knowledge on the topics covered throughout the course. It consists of 2 parts - 30 questions in total.

There are also short tests after each lesson. They are to help consolidate knowledge and prepare for the knowledge test.

In order to pass the course, it is necessary to achieve over 60% of all possible points. Those who achieve a score of at least 61% of all tests will receive a course completion certificate.



COURSE STAFF

Course supervisor: dr inż. Izabela Horzela

In her teaching activities, she focused her research on the area of management, quality, and standardization, including issues related to the application of methods, concepts, and tools for quality management in organizations. Dr. Izabela Horzela also conducts classes in English, as part of the ERASMUS + program. She has many years of experience and teaching achievements in the following fields: management, management, and production engineering, management and administration, logistics at under-graduate (bachelor's and engineering), masters studies, and post-graduate studies. Supervisor of several dozen bachelor's degrees, engineers, and masters. Her scientific achievements are in the field of social and economic sciences related to the issues of organization management, quality management, including issues related to the application of methods, concepts, and tools in enterprise management.
