The Statistics course has been designed for those students of the WSB Academy who are beginning to learn this subject as well as for those who want to broaden their already existing knowledge. Participation in the course allows you to understand the idea of statistics. It is the theory and practice of statistics. It contains the content, all necessary formulas and examples of application. The exercises, which consist of sets of tasks to be solved on your own, together with answers, allow you to practice the practical application of the learned statistical methods.
The only precondition to start the course is to have knowledge of high school mathematics, especially in the field of linear algebra.
If the participant spends 3 hours a week solving the problems, he will finish one level of the course in 10 weeks (which is 20 weeks for the entire course if solving problems from both levels), and if he spends 6 hours a week, the time needed to complete the level will be twice as small.
The basic level includes statistical methods for the description of social and economic phenomena: methods of analyzing the structure of statistical features, regression dependency analysis and dynamics analysis.
The intermediate level includes issues related to statistical inference, used to describe selected social and economic processes and phenomena,e.g. based on results obtained for sample studies, statistical tests to verify the research hypotheses.
To complete the Statistics course it is required to participate in a pretest and give 50% of the correct answers in 2 final tests of basic and advanced levels.
Detailed conditions:
1. To access the basic level resources, a pretext approach is required, regardless of the result.
2. At least 50% of the correct answers in the basic level test are required to access the intermediate level content. It is possible to approach each task in this posttest three times. The result of the posttest has a 5% impact on the final grade.
3. In the intermediate level test it is also possible to approach each task from this posttest three times. The result of the intermediate level posttest has a 95 percent impact on the final score.
In order to obtain a certificate, it is necessary to participate in the pretest and provide 50% correct answers in 2 final tests of the basic and intermediate levels.
