Kurs powstał w ramach projektu wdrożeniowego dofinansowanego z Funduszy Europejskich (program Wiedza - Edukacja - Rozwój) "Kompetencje studentów Akademii Sztuki Wojennej – opracowanie i realizacja edukacyjnych kursów e-learningowych!" (POWR.03.01.00-00-W018-04)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is intended for students of all fields of study who are “struggling” with writing a diploma thesis. It consists of 9 modules that will provide guidance to a young researcher in a clear and simple way. Systematized knowledge, consistent with the methodology of preparing promotion papers, allows you to understand the dependencies occurring in the process of scientific research in an accessible way. There are multiple-choice test questions in the course, with an unlimited number of approaches to each of them. After completing the course, the young scientist will acquire the knowledge necessary to develop his work.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
The aim of the course is to deepen and systematize the students’ knowledge of the 1st and 2nd degree studies necessary to prepare their diploma theses.
The goals are based on achieving the assumed learning outcomes in terms of:
Knowledge: the student understands the importance of the diploma thesis in the educational process, knows the assumptions of preparing the diploma thesis;
Skills: the student is able to collect source materials, conduct research and develop their results, apply methods, techniques and research tools in scientific research;
Competences: the student is able to efficiently use the basic research tools and cooperate with the supervisor in the seminar group.
SYLLABUS
Module I presents the essence of knowledge about science and scientific cognition.
The most important issues that you will learn are:
the concept, elements, division and functions of science,
principles and goals of scientific cognition.
In module II we will search for new knowledge through scientific research.
The most important issues that you will learn are:
concepts, goals and mental cognition processes,
typology of research.
The module shows the rules of selecting factual material.
The most important issues that you will learn are:
stages of a researcher’s work,
rules of using the collected and tested material.
The module defines and presents a research problem and research hypothesis.
The most important issues that you will learn are:
mechanism of formulating hypotheses and their verification,
the essence of the variables.
The module describes the research methods used by the graduate student in the diploma thesis.
The most important issues that you will learn are:
theoretical methods,
practical methods,
research techniques.
The module presents the methodology of preparation, implementation and summary of scientific research.
The most important issues that you will learn are:
the system of writing a thesis in individual phases of scientific considerations,
information on the areas of research considerations and the general outline of the diploma thesis.
In the module, we will deal with identifying the essence and role of qualification work in the teaching process in higher education.
The most important issues that you will learn are:
division of qualification papers depending on the type of studies.
The module shows the duties of the graduate student and his supervisor. It shows how important role is played by the student’s direct contacts with the supervisor during the diploma seminar.
The most important issues that you will learn are:
the essence of the seminar,
the role of the supervisor in managing the papers.
The purpose of the last module is to summarize the final stage, which is the culmination of scientific research, the effect of which is the submission of the diploma thesis.
The most important issues you will learn in this module:
conditions to be met by a student after graduation in order to be admitted to the diploma examination,
templates of documents to be filled in before the defense of the thesis.
PRELIMINARY REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of the issues of the studied area and willingness to take up the challenge!
CONDITIONS FOR COMPLETING THE COURSE
At the end of each module, a small summary test is provided and the entire course ends with a two-part final test on all the material. After obtaining a result of at least 61% of all tests, a certificate of completion of the course will be generated within 24 hours.
