The course covers issues related to Smart Home systems. The hardware and software components of home automation systems are discussed.
The issues raised in the "Smart home for everyone" course focus on building automation systems. The materials present software and hardware components of Smart Home systems. It was shown what to pay attention to when designing such a system. The installation and configuration of 2 platforms that can be used for automation and management in an intelligent building are discussed.
The course has no prerequisites. Dear Participant, if you can operate a computer, know how to install software, can use the command line, and can navigate the Internet, then you have all the skills necessary to join the course.
Access to the Raspberry Pi open programmable platform will facilitate the implementation of the course. However, the lack of a platform is not an obstacle to carrying out classes. All the examples and tasks can be performed using a typical Windows 7/10/11 or Linux PC.
introduction to home automation and Smart Homes,
equipping the course participant with practical skills allowing them to design and select elements for their own Smart Home system;
equipping the user with practical knowledge and skills to configure a home automation system, based on Domoticz;
explaining what Smart Home automation is;
equipping the course participant with practical knowledge and skills to prepare their own automations using block programming;
familiarizing the user with the principles of building applications and user interfaces in a professional solution for IoT systems - on the example of the Node-RED platform.
The first module presents an introduction to the concept of Smart Home and home automation systems. The substantive scope includes a review of commercial and free software that allows you to build your own solution. The materials contain tips on choosing the method of data transfer for the designed system.
The second module discusses the project parameters that should be considered when designing your own system. The installation and configuration of the solution for controlling devices and processes in building automation systems based on Domoticz software are shown.
The third module provides an introduction to block-based programming and discusses automation issues.
The fourth module deals with the subject of ensuring the continuity of the Smart Home system.
The fifth module is related to the discussion of the Node-RED platform.
The course includes 8 tests containing a total of 68 questions. You will be able to answer many questions only after you have completed the discussed examples yourself.
Conditions of passing: completion of tests. For each test, the participant has 3 attempts, and a minimum of 35 points must be obtained, which is 51% of a total number of points.
