The course “Social psychology. Selected issues for Pedagogy students” is mainly dedicated to students of pedagogical studies. Persons interested in social psychology, in particular educational staff and parents are invited to participate in the course too. The course presents and discusses particular issues related to social psychology in such a manner as to provide future educators with knowledge, as well as skills & abilities of diagnosing important social phenomena with reference to scientific and proven psychological theories. The aim of the course is also to encourage future educators to reflect on different social phenomena and conditions of people’s social behaviours.

Addressees of the course:
The course “Social psychology. Selected issues for Pedagogy students” is mainly dedicated to students of pedagogical studies.
Conditions which must be fulfilled to get a pass:
Passing a final test at the level of min. 51%.
Conditions which must be fulfilled to receive the certificate:
The passed test is the basis for receiving the course completion certificate. The course completion certificate will automatically be generated within 24 hours from passing the course and it can be downloaded from the tab Moje kursy - Moje zaświadczenia (My courses - My certificates).
Educational effects:
1. Knowledge:
A student will name and describe factors which determine different social phenomena (aggression, prosociality, stereotypes, attitudes, prejudice and groupness).
A student will characterize the share of internal and external dispositions in construction of people’s social behaviours.
A student will define the most important terms related to social psychology.
2. Skills & abilities:
A student will carry out an analysis of a selected social phenomenon in accordance with theoretical assumptions of given models.
A student will interpret people’s social behaviours, assigning an adequate concept or descriptive mechanism to them.
A student will effectively forecast people’s behaviours in concrete situations.
3. Social competences:
A student will become aware of social phenomena, such as: aggression, prejudices, discrimination, etc.
A student will build an attitude towards promotion of ethical behaviours in interpersonal relations.
A student will appreciate the importance of situational factors and social impact on people’s behaviour.
A student will become aware of own motivation to work in a helping profession.
